It all began on May 10th 2013, when I went for a walk, returned home...sat for awhile then tried to get up, I had a difficult time, my right leg was in a great deal of pain. I had been getting some discomfort for several weeks and blamed it on other things. There was no ignoring the pain that day.
Saturday morning showed no improvement...my husband suggested that I go to a Walk In Clinic, which I finally agreed to. Their suggestion was to go to the Emergency Room, have an X-ray and Ultrasound. Their findings; I had a Baker's Cyst; their directions were to 'go home; ice it, take Aleve and call my doctor on Monday".
The pain become more intense, I wasn't able to put any weight on my foot or walk. I tried crutches, a walker and even crawled. I decided to call an Orthopedic doctor and I begged them to see me that day, which they did. More X-rays...,yes they did see the Backer's Cyst, but didn't think that this was what was causing so much pain. Next step was an x-ray of my hip, which proved negative. They sent me home with a prescription for Vicodin & Prednisone, I told I would not take them, because I am hypersensitive to most drugs.
It is now Wednesday and I am only getting worse. The pain is like nothing I have ever experienced before, I try Tylenol, no relief. My son made a suggestion that maybe I should try acupuncture...great idea. Then I made an appointment that very same day to see Antonio DaSilva, Lic. Ac. Finally I had hopes of some relief.
Just walking... I mean being pushed, into that entrance in the walker, (that I was using as a wheelchair), made me feel calmer, and made one of the best decision in my life, and that is no exaggeration.
I had three treatments that week and the improvement and relief of pain was unbelievable.
I continued my treatments three times that following week.
The following week, I had progressed even more...no more walker, just a limp and much less pain.
The week after that, I had no limp and absolutely no pain.
Thank You, Thank You, I can't say that enough.
